Can follow-ups come from my own email address?

The answer, first

Yes, on Pro and Team. You verify your own domain once, and after that follow-ups are sent from your address rather than from MeetDrop, with replies routed back to your inbox. On the free plan emails go out from MeetDrop and carry a small "Sent with MeetDrop" line; an Event Pass sends from MeetDrop but points replies at your own address.

Why it is worth doing before a show, not after

The first email is the one that gets opened, and it is opened because the sender looks like the person they just met. A domain the recipient has never seen is a small amount of friction on every single lead.

Verification is DNS records, so it is not instant — it depends on how fast your provider publishes. Do it the week before a show rather than the morning of it.

What you set up

1
Add your domain in Settings, under sending.
2
Publish the DNS records it gives you, with whoever hosts your domain. This is the step that needs someone with access.
3
Wait for it to verify. Usually minutes, sometimes longer, depending on the provider.
4
Send one to yourself and look at it in a real inbox before you rely on it at a show.

Where replies go

Replies follow the sending domain. On your own verified domain a reply goes to you at that domain, which is what you want — the conversation continues in the inbox you already live in.

On a team, a teammate sends as themselves at the account's verified domain, so the company looks consistent and each person still owns their own conversations.

Sending from your own domain is a Pro feature. Start free first and see what it writes before you set up DNS for it.
