GSHE 2027 · MOBILE, AL · JANUARY 7–8

Two days. 350 exhibitors.
Follow up on everyone you actually met.

MeetDrop is a lead capture app for trade shows. After each conversation you speak one sentence into your phone, and the follow-up email is written and sent before they reach the next aisle.

The Gulf States Horticultural Expo is the green industry's winter meeting for the Gulf South: 350 exhibitors and around 2,800 people at the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, produced jointly by the Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana nursery and landscape associations. Admission is professionals only. Here is how to leave Mobile with the follow-ups already sent.

Curious how it feels? Try it on yourself

1 · You say it

Snap their card or badge, tap the mic, and say what you would have scribbled on the back. Seven seconds, in your own words.

Just met Jack from Northwind, wants the partner agreement, review Thursday.

2 · MeetDrop writes it

Name, company and what they asked for are pulled out. The email is written in your voice, with the right link already in it, and the lead is scored against the people you came for.

The partner agreement — as promised at the booth

3 · You press send

Read two lines, press Send, and it leaves from your own address. Nothing ever goes out that you did not press. Replies land in your inbox.

"So you’ll email me?" — "Already sent, Jack."

Seventy-three seconds, start to finish. The booth is a dramatization; every phone screen is the real app, recorded live. “Already sent, Jack. Take care.”

How GSHE actually goes

Wednesday, January 6 — education day

The sessions run the day before the floor opens. The people in those rooms are the same people who will walk your stand tomorrow, and nothing captures a conversation in a classroom corridor except what you write down.

Thursday, January 7 — the trade show opens

350 exhibitors and a floor of growers and landscape buyers planning the season. Every conversation is sharp and every card gets a note on the back. By lunch there are thirty cards and the notes have stopped.

Friday, January 8 — one more day, and that is the Expo

Two days is all there is. Breakdown, the drive home, and a stack of cards from people who are about to place their spring orders somewhere.

With MeetDrop, the follow-up left with the conversation

After each buyer walks away, whoever spoke to them taps the mic and says what they would have written on the card. You drive home with a lead list that already shows who opened and who replied.

MeetDrop is free for GSHE. Ten spots on each side of the aisle.

Ten Pro plans for people walking the floor, ten Team plans for booths. The price is one public post saying you are going.

Questions people ask before GSHE

What exactly is MeetDrop?

A lead capture app for a two-day trade show where everyone on the floor is a green industry professional. You photograph a card and say one sentence about what the nursery or landscape buyer asked for; MeetDrop writes the follow-up in your voice and sends it when you press Send. With 350 exhibitors and roughly 2,800 people, the floor is small enough to work properly and big enough to lose the notes.

When and where is the Gulf States Horticultural Expo 2027?

GSHE 2027 is at the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center in Mobile, Alabama. The trade show runs January 7 and 8, 2027, with education sessions the day before on January 6. Partner association LNLA lists the same split independently, so if you have seen the dates quoted as January 6–8 that is the education day being counted in.

Who can attend GSHE?

Green industry professionals only. There are no retail sales and no admission for the general public. For exhibitors that is the whole value of the floor: everybody walking it buys plants, materials or equipment for a living, so there is no qualifying to do afterwards — only following up.

How big is GSHE?

Around 350 exhibitors and roughly 2,800 attendees. It is small enough to work properly in two days and big enough that nobody remembers thirty conversations by the drive home. The Expo also publishes a free exhibitor directory listing companies against their booth numbers.

Who runs GSHE?

It is produced in partnership by three state associations — the Alabama Nursery & Landscape Association, the Mississippi Nursery & Landscape Association and the Louisiana Nursery & Landscape Association — and it also hosts their annual meetings. The first Expo was held in 1999.

What happened to the 2025 edition?

It sold out and was then snowed out, and the organizer credited those exhibitors to the following edition. Worth knowing if you are budgeting: the Gulf South gets weather in January, and the people who lost that floor time are the ones most determined to make this one count.

Does GSHE have an official badge scanner for exhibitors?

Where the Expo offers lead retrieval it reads the badge, which tells you the company and not much else. It does not record that this buyer runs eleven crews, is switching suppliers after a bad season, and wants a quote before spring. MeetDrop captures that beside the scan, and the free exhibitor directory the Expo publishes gives you booth numbers to match names against afterwards.

What does MeetDrop cost?

Free to start: unlimited leads, with 10 AI follow-up emails a month written and sent for you. An Event Pass is $49 for one show: 200 AI follow-up emails, for 30 days from the first one, with replies coming back to your own address. Pro is $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for unlimited AI follow-ups, sending from your own domain, lead scoring and CRM sync. Team is $199 with three seats. Ten Pro and ten Team plans are free for this show through January 31.

How soon should I follow up after GSHE?

The same day, from the show. GSHE lands in early January, which is when growers and landscape contractors are settling their spring buying — the follow-up that arrives while that is still open gets a different answer from the one that arrives in February. Two days of floor is not much room for error.

Can attendees use MeetDrop at GSHE, or only exhibitors?

Both, and the gate helps you: admission is restricted to green industry professionals, with no retail sales and nobody from the general public. Growers and landscape buyers capture the suppliers they want; exhibitors run the whole stand into one shared list with dedupe. Ten free spots each side.

What does free for GSHE include and how do I claim it?

Ten attendees get Pro and ten exhibitors get Team, free from the day they claim through January 31, 2027. Post publicly on LinkedIn or X that you are going to the Gulf States Horticultural Expo and mention MeetDrop, then paste the link in the form on this page. A person checks it and switches the plan on within one business day. No card. On February 1 the account returns to Free with every lead still in it.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your phone's browser, so a stand at the Mobile Convention Center needs no hardware and no laptop. Sign in with Google or an emailed code, set GSHE as your event, and the capture screen is ready. There is an iOS app if you prefer one.
