VMX 2027 · ORLANDO · JANUARY 16–20

Four days of expo hall.
Follow up on every practice you actually met.

MeetDrop is a lead capture app for trade shows. After each conversation you speak one sentence into your phone, and the follow-up email is written and sent before they reach the next aisle.

VMX is the veterinary profession's January gathering: more than 800 exhibitors at the Orange County Convention Center, under the 2027 theme ‘Off the Grid’, with the expo hall open from Saturday lunchtime through Tuesday afternoon. Here is how to leave Orlando with the follow-ups already sent.

January 16 – 20, 2027 Expo Hall: Sat Jan 16 12:45 PM–5:30 PM; Sun Jan 17 9:00 AM–5:30 PM; Mon Jan 18 9:00 AM–5:30 PM; Tue Jan 19 9:00 AM–2:00 PM; Wed Jan 20 no Expo Hall, education sessions only Orange County Convention Center, Orlando

Curious how it feels? Try it on yourself

1 · You say it

Snap their card or badge, tap the mic, and say what you would have scribbled on the back. Seven seconds, in your own words.

Just met Jack from Northwind, wants the partner agreement, review Thursday.

2 · MeetDrop writes it

Name, company and what they asked for are pulled out. The email is written in your voice, with the right link already in it, and the lead is scored against the people you came for.

The partner agreement — as promised at the booth

3 · You press send

Read two lines, press Send, and it leaves from your own address. Nothing ever goes out that you did not press. Replies land in your inbox.

"So you’ll email me?" — "Already sent, Jack."

Seventy-three seconds, start to finish. The booth is a dramatization; every phone screen is the real app, recorded live. “Already sent, Jack. Take care.”

How VMX actually goes

Wednesday to Friday, January 13–15 — move-in

The top thirty exhibitors start building on the Wednesday and everyone else follows by Friday. Nothing is captured yet; the stand just has to be standing.

Saturday, January 16 — Bindi Irwin, then the hall opens at 12:45

The opening ceremony runs 11:15 to 12:30 on the Expo Hall Main Stage, and the floor opens straight afterwards for a four-and-three-quarter-hour afternoon. A short first day and a full one — everybody is fresh and nobody is writing anything down.

Sunday and Monday, January 17–18 — the long days, 9 to 5:30

Practice owners doing their real rounds. Every conversation is sharp and every card gets a note on the back. By Sunday lunchtime there are thirty cards and the notes have stopped.

Tuesday, January 19 — the hall closes at 2

Five hours, then move-out begins at 2pm sharp. Wednesday is education only. The follow-up is now a task for the week you are back.

With MeetDrop, the follow-up left with the conversation

After each person walks away, whoever spoke to them taps the mic and says what they would have written on the card. You fly home with a lead list that already shows who opened and who replied.

MeetDrop is free for VMX. Ten spots on each side of the aisle.

Ten Pro plans for people walking the floor, ten Team plans for booths. The price is one public post saying you are going.

One app, both sides of the aisle

However you work the show, the follow-up is sent before the conversation cools.

Four days, but not four full ones

Saturday is an afternoon and Tuesday ends at 2. The hall is open fewer hours than the dates suggest, and the follow-up has to keep up.

One stand, one lead list

The whole crew captures into the same place with dedupe — so the practice owner who came back on Monday gets one follow-up, not two.

Startups without a scanner

New Product Gallery, Pet Pitch, Startup Circle. A two-person stand needs no lead-retrieval rental — just the phones already in their pockets.

Questions people ask before VMX

What exactly is MeetDrop, and why use it at VMX?

A lead capture app for people who meet prospects in person. You photograph a vet's card and say one sentence about what they asked for; MeetDrop writes the follow-up in your voice and sends it when you press Send. The VMX hall is open roughly four and a half days' worth of dates but far fewer hours — a Saturday afternoon, two full days, and a Tuesday that ends at 2 — so the conversations come in bursts and the notes are the first thing to go.

When and where is VMX 2027?

VMX 2027 runs January 16 to 20, 2027 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The expo hall is open Saturday January 16 from 12:45 to 5:30 PM, Sunday the 17th and Monday the 18th from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Tuesday the 19th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Wednesday January 20 is education only — the hall is shut.

What is the VMX 2027 opening ceremony?

Bindi Irwin headlines the opening ceremony on Saturday January 16, 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM, on the OCCC Expo Hall Main Stage. The hall opens at 12:45 straight afterwards, so the floor fills with people who have just come out of the same room.

How many exhibitors are at VMX?

More than 800 industry leaders, startups, innovators and animal health providers, under the 2027 theme 'Off the Grid'. NAVC runs dedicated startup programmes alongside them — the New Product Gallery, the Pet Pitch Competition and Startup Circle.

What does it cost to attend VMX?

VMX 2027 registration is $250 for veterinary professionals, $275 for industry professionals, and $1,500 for non-exhibiting suppliers, each including a five-day attendee badge. VMX Virtual registration stays available for 60 days from the opening day.

When is exhibitor move-in and move-out?

Move-in runs Wednesday January 13 for the top thirty exhibitors, through Friday January 15 for everyone else. Move-out starts Tuesday January 19 at 2:00 PM, as soon as the hall closes, and continues Wednesday January 20.

What does MeetDrop cost?

Free to start: unlimited leads, with 10 AI follow-up emails a month written and sent for you. An Event Pass is $49 for one show: 200 AI follow-up emails, for 30 days from the first one, with replies coming back to your own address. Pro is $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for unlimited AI follow-ups, sending from your own domain, lead scoring and CRM sync. Team is $199 with three seats, which is the one to look at if you are running a stand with a crew. Ten Pro and ten Team plans are free for VMX through January 31.

Does VMX have an official badge scanner for exhibitors?

Exhibitors can order lead retrieval through the VMX exhibitor portal, and it reads what is printed on the badge. It does not record that this practice owner runs four clinics, is replacing their anaesthesia machines this year, and asked for a quote before spring. MeetDrop captures that beside the scan and can import the scanner's export afterwards.

Can attendees use MeetDrop at VMX, or only exhibitors?

Both. Vets and practice managers capture the suppliers they want to deal with — useful across 800 stands in a hall open four short days. Exhibitors run the whole crew into one shared list with dedupe. Ten free spots on each side.

What does free for VMX include and how do I claim it?

Ten attendees get Pro and ten stands get Team, free from the day they claim through January 31, 2027. Post publicly on LinkedIn or X that you are going to VMX and mention MeetDrop, then paste the link in the form on this page. A person checks it and switches the plan on within one business day. No card. On February 1 the account returns to Free with every lead still in it.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your phone's browser, which is what you want on a stand where the hall shuts at 2 and move-out starts immediately. Sign in with Google or an emailed code, set VMX as your event, and the capture screen is ready. There is an iOS app if you prefer one.
